One week in Cape Town

An extraordinary city which helped us completing our photos album. In a few days, we've been amazed by Waterfront, Kirtenbosch Gardens, Green Market, Signal Hills, Boulders, Cape Point to end up with an eventful "climbing" of Table Mountain.

We'll soon leave South Africa with our mind filled with beautiful landscapes and wonderful encounters. If you are looking for a dream destination, you definitely have to put South Africa on your list!

On the road again

A week filled with kilometers. See for yourself : we went through Belfast and Newcastle, and close to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Frankfort, Metz, and even Lorraine (the region in which we live in France) to end up not far from Belville. Since we left Lydenburg, we stopped in Durban, East London, Swellendam and finally Cape Town : a 2500 kilometers journey through beautiful landscapes, typical South Africa colors, impressive weather phenomenas,  and a lot of Townships or Ghettos.

As promised, the answer to our question about the "Big Five" through this photo.

Kruger or not Kruger?

That is the question. Huge park, without any certainty of seeing any animal. Kruger is kind of a bet. However, with the beautiful landscapes, it's a sure win bet. Finally, during these two days among the wildlife, animals won't deceive us as you can see from the photos. One of the most intense sensation can be felt by playing hide and seek in search of the fiercest animals through the secondary roads with little traffic.

While we still had a head full of beautiful images, the landscapes discovered on the road from Sabie to Lydenburg carried on the dream. Breathtaking!

Reaching South Africa

With few access to the Internet, it has been a long time now without any post. Let's correct this right now!

During our first days on South Africa ground, our eyes has been busy in search of wildlife while visiting the park "Rhino & Lion". Four of the five "Big Five" can be found there, in semi-freedom, that's why we had no excuse not to see them. Anyway, do you know what these five animals are? You'll find the answer in one of our next posts.

It's also difficult to spend a few days in Joburg without visiting, at least in part, Soweto. The opportunity for us to discover the home of Nelson Mandela and the "Hector Pieterson" museum, the boy killed on June 16th, 1976 who became the symbol of the black uprising during the same year. To ease our mind, we also went to Soccer City & Monte Casino.

Walking along the southern coast

Yesterday's plans : Rochester falls - where a blogger was courageous enough to bathe in icy waters - Gris Gris - where the same blogger had to restrain himself from jumping in the waves - and finally "La Roche Qui Pleure" (the rock which is crying). Next step : South Africa.

Back to Mauritius ...

... for some relaxing and swimming on the paradise beach of "Flic en Flac". An opportunity for us to participate in a sea trip that allowed us to swim with the dolphins, admire the corals and colorful fish processions, and finally enjoy a delicious meal.

A few days left before flying to South Africa.

Raindrops keep falling on Salazie

If you can contemplate waterfalls, marvel at the variety of shades of green, it's because it often rains in the Salazie Circus. No exception to the rule yesterday but without regrets. Back now to "Saint-Denis" for a very entertaining street theater afternoon and a "night market" evening reminding us of a fun fair.

Facing the Ocean

Back on the coast to verify that you can't improvise been a "Blower" photograph, meaning you sometimes have to come back with a wet shirt.

A Journey to "almost" the Center of the Earth

"Some point of view have to be earned". Once again, today, in front of the landscape beauty, we didn't regret our alarm clock ringing at 5am. Sometimes, when walking toward the "Piton De la Fournaise" crater, you feel like you're on the moon.
